Sheriff Chris Swanson: "Your lives will never be the same after today." - Christmas Spectacular 2024
December 14, 2024 was a continuation of a movement that began in Genesee County five years ago. People in the community and around the country united by walking tougher as one to protest the murder of George Floyd on May 30, 2020.
Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson co-founded US United after that historic event. It's a non-profit aimed at bringing unity across the country. The organization started a holiday event called the Christmas Spectacular. 2024 marked its fifth year and brought blessings to 250 families in Genesee County. Eleven other sheriffs across the country participated by hosting their own Holiday Spectacular events. This year brought corporate donations and thousand of dollars to be given out the community.
