NO DOGS ALLOWED IN EUGENE
We visited Eugene on April 30, 2022. This was the day before the Eugene Marathon and Half Marathon. The town was packed with visators. My wife lived in Eugene for a year and the place has changed a lot. The story of Eugene is that a lot of San Francisco hippies moved there including Ken Kesey. This is also where National Lampoon's Animal House was filmed. Eugene is the home of the University of Oregon. It is none as "TrackTown USA." This is where Nike shoes were developed. You can find Phil Knight's parking spot at U of O's Autzen Stadium. Steve Prefontaine is the most famous runner to come out od the U of O. The Oregon Ducks football team are perenial NCAA and Pac 12 Championship contenders.It's a big bycycling town. We stopped at the Electric Avenue Bike Shop where we checked out some cool retro style electric bycycles, one which has a side car made for dogs! Then we go to The High Street Breweryand Cafe for lunch,where we checked out some cool West Coast San Fran style concert posters.Eugene is a great place to visit.
