South Africa Shoot BTS Pt 1: Agulhas
The first proper stop on our trip to South Africa to film our new visuals in April of this year was Agalhus, which is in the Western Cape on the Southern tip of Africa. The lovely people of Springfield Estates welcomed us for a couple nights into their beautiful farm that was founded and built in the 1700’s, and it was incredible to be surrounded by so much history and to hear the stories of Oom Vrik (not all of which were about ghosts 😝). On the day we arrived we went and scouted our first locations which is where we filmed the visualizer for Back to You and many of the scenes for the Falling Asleep music video. For this new era we decided to take the visual side of the project fully into our own hands with our friend @xander_ferreira . We met a lot of great people along the way, including @heenbillz who was our AD on the project. My parents also came along for the ride and did most of the catering and my mom filmed most of the BTS because she was a documentary filmmaker in her day. For those of you that don’t know, ‘braai’ means to grill over a fire which we do a lot of in SA.
