1. Pick your best hero
Pick the hero that you are most comfortable to play with and always remember
that in order for you to reach your goal rank, you must master at least two to three (2-3)
heroes. Yes, you don't have to play each and every hero in Dota 2 YET! Just choose which ones
you play best with and master using it. Don't be the jack of all trades & master of none.

2. Know your lane
When I say know your lane, you should know what role or position you are REALLY good at.
If you don't know it yet, you can start exploring by playing Normal matches before risking
your MMR in a Ranked match. The core roles are also known as Midlaner, Offlaner & Carry.
Two other positions are the Supporting roles, and these roles are vital too and much more complex to
master than the others because they usually have more responsibilities during the game. So, explore and study which role suits you best!

3. Ranked role match
Dota Plus and/or Battle pass ranked role match is a good feature in Dota 2.
As you may notice in a regular ranked match, trash talks begin as early as when you are choosing hero/lanes,
and that could really affect your game later. Trust me, especially in SEA server, everyone wants to play CORE.
But if you play in a ranked role match, you can already queue in your role without having a conflict with teammates
during the preparation phase. Although ranked role matchmaking is not a cure for cancer, it can be used as prevention instead.

4. Communication
Communication is the key! You will play with strangers most of the time and what you need to know is that
each unique players have their different play styles; Some are too aggressive, too passive or totally unpredictable.
So, speak up and get to know how your teammates play. Use your microphones to communicate better because it's hard to play
the game and chat your plans at the same time. Valve added this feature so it can be used to make communication easier so, use it.
Sure, you can type and ping but it would be difficult to do so when you are in the middle of a clash. Chat kills, my friends, remember that!

5. Don't trash talk
Never trash talk with your teammates especially during the preparation phase up to the first phase of the game. Negative opinions or meaningless
remarks can greatly affect your team's spirit and the entire game as well. Just like in life and in general, if you have nothing good to say,
keep your mouth shut! And/ or if you don't want to hear them, go ahead and press the mute button.

6. STOP IF YOU ARE ON LOSING STREAK
I know exactly what it feels like to lose and wanting to avenge the MMR that you lost. But it's not good to force a
win on a losing streak because it will make you feel more exhausted and mentally drained. Thus in result, even losing more.
So, cut your losses and take a rest for a couple of hours, days or weeks maybe if needed. And be sure that when you come back,
you are in a good physical and mental state to play again. Everyone has their bad days, just learn to accept that it just might not be your day.

7. ADJUST YOUR ITEM BUILD
The caption is self-explanatory. I know you really want more damage, more power,
but you can never win against your opponent when you're disabled, right? Every game is different so,
build team essential items to win team fights. Dota 2 is designed for team plays after all.

8. Objectives
The main objective of Dota 2 is to destroy the enemy's throne. So, don't think that because you had most kills,
have the highest net worth or you were strong in the first 20minutes of the game, you would instantly win; Dota 2
doesn't work that way. Well, of course, all those efforts can POTENTIALLY make you win the game. But prioritize your main
objective because that is what will secure your win. So, focus on your main objective and everything else should fall into place.

9. Watch and learn from Pro players
Watching and learning from pro players will help you to become a better player yourself simply because
it will give you a different perspective. Analyze their movement, decisions, and pick up what you think
would best apply in your game in the future. Observe what they do in the lane, how they harass, how they last hit, how they pull, where to put the wards and etc.

10. Learn from your mistakes
Be your own critic and evaluate yourself each and every game. It's knowing your strengths and your weaknesses as well. Identify what you think you can improve and practice it.
