“WHERE YOU ARE” music video, filmed over a period of 7 years (earbuds in if you have them—lots of instrumental detail in this song). Here’s the backstory:
My album “IF ALL ELSE FAILS” is now finally released (Amazon link above)! It took 8 years, 3 months, and 5 days to record: 16 songs, full band plus a small orchestra of violins, violas, & cellos on each song, and other random orchestral instrumentation like glockenspiel and harp.
So a couple of years into the recording process once I realized just how long this album was going to take me, I decided that releasing it in today’s current tradition of streaming on Spotify and Apple Music etc. wasn’t quite fitting—I wanted to deliver this album experience to you in a way that was really creative and unique.
I started by hiring an exceptionally talented artist to design the album cover. Her cover art concept was so interesting, imaginative & beautiful that I brought on a handful of additional visual artists, of various visual art mediums, to dream up their own versions of that cover art concept. The resulting curated collection of gorgeous artwork deserved an appropriately stunning & elegant presentation: a tactile artistry-infused hardcover book encasing the CD and download card which both contain all 16 songs of the album.
We filmed the art creation over a period of 7 years, and pieced it together as the music video for song #2 on the album, "Where You Are".
An overwhelming amount of heart & soul, blood, sweat & tears went into the songwriting, arranging, recording, and production of the 16 songs on this album, as well as the creation of the final physical product filled with so much amazing and imaginative visual artwork. I am so proud of all the musicians, artists, and creators involved who helped turn this vision into a reality.
So much of my life is wrapped up in this project that spanned such an enormous amount of time and I would really love for you to have a copy of the “IF ALL ELSE FAILS” album-book and experience this culmination of music & art for yourself.
