how to make a homemade concrete vibrator
In this video, I teach you step-by-step how to make a homemade concrete vibrator.
For this project you will need:
1 motorcycle fork tube,
2 bearings,
1 threaded rod,
1 motorcycle brake cable,
1 drill, sander, or Makita.
First, you need to cut the motorcycle fork tube to the desired size. Then, you need to fit the bearings into the fork tube.
Note: As motorcycle fork tubes vary in size depending on the model, I recommend measuring the inner hole of your tube before buying the bearings. The project is adaptable!
Next, you need to cut two pieces of threaded rod and weld them in parallel to use as vibration weights. Finally, you need to connect the cable to the vibrator and the drill, or any rotary motor you have.
To use the concrete vibrator, simply turn it on and insert it into the concrete. The vibrator will vibrate the concrete, which will help compact it and eliminate air bubbles.
This is an easy and inexpensive project to make. With a little practice, you can make a concrete vibrator that works just as well as commercial models.
Here are some tips for making a good concrete vibrator:
Use good quality bearings.
Make sure the steel cable is strong enough to withstand the vibration.
Do not overload the vibrator. If it starts to overheat, turn it off and let it cool down.
