Net Shape components by Metal Injection Molding
The Metal Injection Molding process is an innovative solution for the manufacturing of Net Shape (NS) metal components using metal powders. This powder metallurgy technology is used more and more widely in many industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical and other applications.
In the Metal Injection Molding technology, the metal powders mixed with a binder are injected in the molds. After the debinding phase, the MIM part densification by sintering or by hot isostatic pressing takes place.
Pearl® Micro fine metal powders from Erasteel are recommended for MIM applications and include a wide range of stainless steels, tool steels as well as Nickel or Cobalt base powders.
