7 RECOMMENDATIONS WHEN TAKING YOUR CAR IN FOR SERVICE / 7 CAR DEALER MAINTENANCE TIPS CONSIDERATIONS
*Ask the service advisor for proof of the oil filter change.
(They might not change it and then sell the filter on eBay, Amazon, Mercado Libre, etc.)
*Fill the windshield washer fluid reservoir with bottled water and tape it to prevent them from using tap water.
(This prevents clogged hoses and water spots on the windshield.)
*Identify the tires if they are going to be rotated. Use labels, tape, brand, serial number, and DOT number.
(They charge you for rotation and then don't do it.)
*Make sure they replace the correct screws and clips on the lower cover after the service.
(Otherwise, they might lose them, and you'll have to replace them later.)
*Remove all your belongings from the vehicle, such as glasses, USB drives, or other valuables.
This will prevent problems and misunderstandings.
*Ask them not to clean the dashboard or the displays/screens... to avoid scratching the acrylic on the instrument cluster or screens. (Applicable at car washes)
*Ask them not to apply tire shine gel. (Applicable at car washes)
(Do it yourself, as this is a trick car washes use to make your car get dirty faster)
