Bleass Voices (An MPE Vocal Harmonizer!) Short Chordjam-powered Demo
GIVEAWAY Details are below. First, a little info. I’m not a huge fan of harmonizer apps or hardware, but I have to say that this can sound really great with the right input and with care paid to settings. Here I am using some female vocals from the Chroma Vol 2 pack by Audiomodern. I have Bleass Voices set up to manipulate the incoming audio via midi (there are plenty of self contained presets that don’t need this btw), and that midi is coming from Chordjam, also by Audiomodern. I am using the MPE chord pitch bend feature that came with the latest feature of Chordjam, which Bleass Voices is able to take advantage of, due to its MPE implementation. Although poly pitchbend is the only MPE aspect of Bleass Voices that I’m using here, I’m happy to report that it is a very comprehensive MPE implementation for ALL 5 aspects of MPE, including note off velocity, which is omitted by many mpe apps. The range of modulation destinations for all modulation sources, including the inbuilt LFOs, is EXTREMELY comprehensive - a big improvement on Bleass’s earlier apps which sometimes had quite limited target destinations for their LFOs.
The video first demos the vocals through Bleass Voices, but towards the end you can hear it without Voices added. I used FabFilter Pro-R for a nice big reverb after the FX, and it really adds a lot. Harmonizer FX can sound a bit robotic without reverb added after, imho.
