When we understand who was ruling the earth at various points in time, it greatly enhances our understanding of the evil deeds & lordship in the OT, thus helping us to rightly divide with greater confidence. We'll look at the following in this 2-part teaching series:
#1 In the beginning, man was the ruler / god of this world because God created the earth for us to have dominion over.
#2 Satan took over the role of ruler / god of this world when man submitted under his authority by way of sinning.
#3 Jesus came and delegated authority to His disciples and demonstrated how to destroy the works of the devil and make him submit to His will.
#4 Jesus died for us and His blood washes away the sins of all believers in Him, thus ransoming us out from under the devil's authority and restoring us as rulers / gods of this world.
#5 Unborn again man continues to lie under the rulership of the devil until he has his sins washed away. Ultimately every knee will bow & every tongue confess Jesus to be saved.
