• How to Respond When People Call your Oppor...
While sharing opportunities, especially to the cold market, you may encounter people who will think your opportunity is a scam or that you are a scammer. In such cases, how do you respond?
1. Empathize.
Understand that most of them are being sceptical because of negative previous experiences they must have had which may have left them emotionally hurt and angry, and that may lead to them transferring aggression to you and your opportunity.
Empathize with them, and don't take anything they say personal (some may initially be careless with their words), but don't fall the level of their pain, instead lift them up to the level of your knowledge.
Try to understand their reasons for negatively responding to your opportunity pitch and empathize with them.
2. Educate.
Knowledge brings clarity and eliminates scepticism, fear and doubt. The most effective way to help your prospects gain clarity about your opportunity and decide whether it is for them or not is through correct knowledge which can only be gotten through information.
Politely offer them the information about your opportunity and the answers to their questions and encourage them to do their own research. Never argue with them, remember your goal is not to win them over, your goal is to inform them about your opportunity enough to aid their decision making process and know that this decision can be positive or negative. In other words, they are very well within their rights to turn down your opportunity even after your information has been presented.
3. Escape.
It's important to know that some people are very low quality. They would not go through whatever information you share and as a matter of fact, they will continue to take the moral high ground to insist (without reviewing any information you've shared) that you're a scammer and decide that it's their moral responsibility to counsel you or abuse you in the interest of humanity.
When you encounter such people, remember, don't fall to the level of their pain and foolishness. But if you cannot help them rise to the level of your knowledge, then it's in the interest of your mental health to exit that conversation and block such individuals. Remember they stand to gain more from you through information you're giving, than what you stand to gain from them. So take your opportunity away from those who don't deserve it and keep it moving.
I hope this helps.
