Ok, time to stick a fork in this. Final render is with mental ray but with FG/GI turned off (it still took 6 hours to render). Buggy model has 133K polys. Final changes I made were smaller wheels which meant I had to shorten the length of the buggy by a good 15% by shortenning the bonnet and cabin (mainly behind the seats), and I've added a lot more detail under the bonnet since the last video, as well as a lot of little details over the whole model. I think it's turned out well, the point was to improve my modelling skills (while going through the 3D Buzz '3dsMax Fundamentals' course) and this is way better than the stuff I've done before, so I'm happy with how it's turned out.
