Child taken from parents for smoking weed killed by foster mother
Alexandra Hill didn't live to see her fourth birthday. She was taken from her parents and fell into the hands of a foster mother, who killed her.
Alexandra's mother used medical marijuana prescribed for chronic pain. Her father sometimes enjoyed a smoke after putting her daughter to bed.
Someone reported the couple, and their daughter was taken from them and sent to a foster home earlier this year.
Her parents were only allowed to see their daughter at scheduled visits.
When Hill saw the bruises on the child's body, he immediately took her away and demanded that the authorities find a safer place for her.
Then Sherill Small and her husband volunteered to care for the child. One night, Alex woke up early and hungry. This upset Sherill and beat the girl.
Her real parents were called to the hospital, where they witnessed their 4-year-old daughter passing away. A Miami court charged 52-year-old Sherill Small with murder last Tuesday.
We wonder if the fact that parents occasionally smoke marijuana is really enough to take their child away from them?
