Երգը գրվել է Վանի Պետոի հիշատակին, ով զոհվել է 1896 թ․ Գարահիսար լեռան մոտ քրդերի հետ համառ մարտերում։
Գարահիսարը մի շշմելու ու անառիկ բերդաքաղաք է եղել, որն ընկել է 1915թ հուլիսին երկար ինքնպաշտպանական մարտերից հետո։
Տեսահոլովակը պատրաստել ենք 44 օրյա պատերազմի ծանր օրերի ապրումներից ազդված։
Այսքա՜ն հին երգ, բայց նոր ցավ, նոր վերք... թերևս, հայիս համար չսպիացող ո՛չ ցավ, ո՛չ վերք...
This song was written in the memory of Peto (from Van), who was killed during the bloodiest battles with the Kurds near Mount Garahisar back in 1896.
Garahisar was a stunning and impregnable fortress city, which fell in July 1915 after long battles.
Us Armenians' bitter emotions inspired this video, went through as a nation during the 44-day-long imposed was in Sep-Nov 2020.
We feel that history has repeated itself, refreshing our painful historical wounds. But as Armenians, and we will do what we have always done best: We will stand tall and strong with a vision towards a bright future.
