What If the Genma Were the Good Guys? (Onimusha What-If)
Of all of the over-arching characters pulling the strings, Fortinbras is easily the most influential, not only being the driving force behind the Oni's desire to defeat the Genma, but being the Creator God responsible for the birth of both Humanity and the Genma. His cruelty and malice are likely the source of the Genma's own malicious nature, but that begs the question: What if Fortinbras was actually benevolent? If he valued the Genma and Humanity in a similar light, and the Oni were the ones who acted with cruelty, how would the overall story change?
I'm so sorry that this took so long for me to finish. This is easily the largest and most ambitious project I've ever undertaken, but after 4 months, it's finally finished! The moment this came to mind, it opened up to a lot of different ideas that I really wanted to expand on, and I really hope I did them justice. As tough as this was to write and finalise, it was so much fun trying out so many new ideas, so I hope that this was worth the wait!
