Home Automation on Steroids (Chapter 1) : Home Assistant (HASS) and AppDaemon
Home Assistant is a powerful home automation framework based on Python. Add the AppDaemon plugin to it and it becomes an unstoppable force for creating complex automation rules beyond your imagination. I've been in the smart home space for over 3 years now, but I haven't seen the flexibility that HASS gives you with any other framework like smartthings, zipato, vera, wink or even fibaro.
Yes, you have to code a lot as there is no UI for the configuration, but personally I feel that in the end the pain is worth it !
I hope this video helps anybody who is getting into the smart home space and really understand AppDaemon and it's power.
