Making a WordPress menu item open in a new tab is quite simple. All you have to do is:
1. Go to Appearance - Menus.
2. Click on the Screen Options button in the upper right corner.
3. Check the "Link Target" box.
4. Select the menu item that you want to open in a new tab, and check the "Open link in a new tab" box.
5. Save the menu.
