When hacking objects in Frontier, there's a chance they could be infected with rogue AI. If this happens, the timer will automatically start and speed up by 2x. Additionally, you will take damage or die if you fail to complete the hacking minigame. Normally, the timer doesn't start until you enter the first digits.
