Australian Sapodilla Tree - Abiu in Fruit
This fruit is oval in shape and is known as the Australian sapodilla. The flesh of the fruit is chewy, soft, fresh and tasty, like young coconut. A sweet and legit tinge is the unique taste of this fruit. This beautiful fruit is called Abiu or Australian brown. Actually abiu comes from South America, around the Amazon, lowlands of Peru, and Brazil. But it has been bred to Australia, so the abiu is called Australian brown. Abiu fruit is not very similar to sapodilla in general. However, its character remains similar to that of the woody tan and can reach a height of 15cm. Abiu fruit is round with a slightly conical tip at the end. The fruit, whose real name is Pouteria caimito, is about 6cm-12cm long per fruit and weighs 150-500 grams per fruit. #fruit #abiu
