Snoop Dogg Acquires Death Row Records
Snoop Dogg acquires death row records, the record label that he was a founding member of and a key part of rap history.
The label turned over more than 100 million dollars a year back in the 90s but filed for bankruptcy in 2006 and was sold 6 years later by Suge Knight as he battled legal troubles.
In its prime, Death Row propelled the careers of the likes of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur, Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound and helped bring gangsta rap to the mainstream.
It’s a big year for Snoop Dogg whose new album is entitled referencing the acquisition is called Bacc on Death Row launched at the same day of his superbowl performance along with fellow Death Row alum Dr Dre.
