Two days before my 28th birthday, I had a sleepless night, where for the first time in years I seriously contemplated what life would be like if I quit music and hard pivotted into something else.
So much of ‘self-value’ is equated to what we can bring to society’s table. What would happen if I lost my ability to sing? Or if I forgot how to write music? Would I still be important?
There is so much pressure associated with aging, and I believe this invisible force can be soul crushing if we allow our labels to give us the illusion of feeling valuable - when our self-value is innate and we don’t have to be something because ‘being’ is already a verb! 🥸
I haven’t really found a conclusion to these thoughts, but if I wanted to be a zookeeper this lifetime, I still can 🧚🏼♂️
