Hey guys, growing up basketball and chess were my first loves but around 6th grade I started seeing the older kids in town riding BMX and building dirt jumps and riding street. I fell in love with riding bikes soon as I learned to bunny hop and there was an older guy who worked at the local bike shop who was the best rider I’ve ever seen. One time my friend needed his pedal tightened so this guy fixed it no problem and then asked if we wanted to see a trick then did a 360 on flat ground. I was so amazed I wanted to ride every day and be the best rider I could be. That guy ended up being the biggest role model in my life and we ended up working together at the shop while becoming friends. I started getting pretty good and got a few sponsors while my friend Joe turned pro finally after years of deserving it, he was the best rider ever! Not only was he talented on his bike, he was also the best positive influence for me and all of my friends growing up. He worked hard and helped everyone in need without ever expecting anything in return. A week before 9/11 happened he had an accident on his motorcycle and passed away, he touched so many people’s lives that we got a skatepark in town built in his memory. I admit his death hit me hard and is one of the reasons I don’t ride anymore but in my prime I was pretty good and probably would’ve went pro if Joe never passed away.
I hope you enjoy my part from this video my boy made a few years ago, I have others I may upload too.
