Meaningful images can be used instead of category labels in a dynamic bar chart. A helper column and a stacked bar chart can be used to paste the images onto the helper series (shape fill feature of Microsoft Excel). But the images can become stretched or compressed, when the numbers in the dynamic chart change. To avoid this, a formula can be used in the helper column instead of a constant number, showing a fraction of the largest number in the main column. All images have to be equal in size. The fraction in the formula and the gap width between the bars need to be adjusted depending on chart size to make the images look good the first time. Afterwards, even when numbers change, the images will still look good.
