In this video, Michael chooses to demonstrate a plain Remix project using the todo MVC UI. Effect is considered a perfect fit for Remix thanks to its ability to act like APIs and keep the UI thin without increasing bundle size. Goals for the project include integrating Effect with layers, open telemetry, and a potential database. Michael also showcases the use of managed runtime and layers for creating a Remix runtime.
