Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to treat people who have disorders of overcontrol, which contribute to relationship difficulties or emotional loneliness. Some of these challenges include eating disorders, avoidant personality disorder, obsessive compulsive personality disorder, some presentations of Autism Spectrum Disorder, treatment-resistant depression, and extreme perfectionism.

This presentation will give practical and immediately applicable skills to mental health professionals wanting to learn more effective strategies for working with over-controlled clients, when other therapies may have been ineffective.

At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees should be able to describe what overcontrolled coping is and learn a set of RODBT skills to target overcontrol.
