Ayodhya Airport, officially known as Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport, is underconstruction international airport in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. The existing government airstrip is situated between the NH 27 and NH 330 at Sultanpur Naaka, Faizabad. The State Government signed a memorandum of understanding with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in February 2014 for the development of the airport. As of April 2022, the airport is not operational but construction work is in progress. The existing airstrip's runway was 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) long and 30 metres (98 ft) wide, which is only just large enough for nine-seater aircraft. The Airport Authority of India sent a note to the state government recommending that they draft a master plan to acquire at least 284 acres (115 ha) more land so that the airport can handle 200-seater Airbus A321 aircraft. In November 2018 state government decided to acquire more than 280 acres of land around the airstrip and widen it to allow the landing of larger aircraft. The projected runway would be 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) long and 45 metres (148 ft) wide, with a 100-150 m wide set-off area each side of the runway. Uttar Pradesh will soon be the state with maximum number of international and domestic airports in the country. With three new international airports expected to be made operational in the next three years, the state will soon have five international airports. Kushinagar airport, which got the Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA’s) approval recently, thus becoming the third licensed international airport in UP after Lucknow and Varanasi. The Jewar international airport, which is coming up in the NCR region and is expected to be ready by 2023 while construction work for the international airport in Ayodhya is on full swing and air services are expected to start early next year. All these international airports in UP are expected to give a boost to the tourism sector in UP and aid in the development of the economically backward eastern region of the state.
भगवान श्री रामचंद्र के भव्य मंदिर के निर्माण के साथ ही साथ अयोध्या में अंतरराष्ट्रीय एयरपोर्ट का भी निर्माण कार्य आरंभ हो चुका है और वह समय अब दूर नहीं जब भगवान राम का दर्शन करने हेतु भक्त अयोध्या सीधा एयरपोर्ट से भी आ सकेंगे।

भारतवर्ष में संचालित विकास परियोजनाओं तथा धार्मिक स्थलों पर हो रहे विकास कार्यों की महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी प्रदान करने के क्रम में आज हम आपको बताएंगे अयोध्या में बन रहे उत्तर प्रदेश के चौथे अंतरराष्ट्रीय एयरपोर्ट की महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी तथा देखेंगे निर्माण कार्य की वर्तमान परिस्थिति। जानेंगे कि कैसा बनेगा यह अंतरराष्ट्रीय एयरपोर्ट, कैसी होगी यहां पर सुविधा तथा कब से दर्शनार्थी व जनता कर सकेंगे इस हवाई अड्डे से यात्रा।
इस समय राम की नगरी अयोध्या (Ayodhya) में विकास की गंगा बह रही है। संभवतः यही कारण है कि अयोध्या के साधु-संत हो अथवा साधारण जनमानस सब यूपी सरकार की तारीफ कर रहे हैं। हम बात कर रहे हैं राम नगरी में बन रहे अंतरराष्ट्रीय श्री राम एयरपोर्ट (Shriram International Airport) की। भगवान रामलला के मंदिर निर्माण के साथ-साथ अंतरराष्ट्रीय एयरपोर्ट का भी काम युद्ध स्तर पर चल रहा है।
आपको हम बता दें कि श्री राम जन्मभूमि मंदिर के गर्भगृह में भगवान के विराजने और लोकसभा चुनाव के पहले अयोध्या एयरपोर्ट से घरेलू विमान की उड़ान आरंभ हो जाएगी यह अंतरराष्ट्रीय एयरपोर्ट कुल 821 एकड़ भूमि में विस्तारित होगा। इसके प्रथम चरण के लिए टर्मिनल बिल्डिंग और रनवे में 317 एकड़ भूमि की आवश्यकता होगी जिसके लिए अभी तक 323 एकड़ से अधिक भूमि उपलब्ध कराई जा चुकी है। एवं अभी तक 83 प्रतिशत भूमि का अधिग्रहण हो चुका है जबकि शेष भूमि की व्यवस्था में प्रशासन जुटा है। दूसरे और तीसरे फेज के रनवे और टर्मिनल के निर्माण के लिए लगभग 600 एकड़ भूमि की आवश्यकता और पड़ेगी।
जानकारी हेतु बता दें कि उत्तरप्रदेश के अयोध्या में बन रहे मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान श्री राम एयरपोर्ट के निर्माण का कार्य एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया ने निर्धारित समय से आगे बढ़ा दिया है। अब भगवान श्रीराम एयरपोर्ट मार्च 2023 तक तैयार होगा। पहले इसका लक्ष्य दिसंबर 2022 रखा गया था परंतु इसका लक्ष्य बढ़ा दिया गया है हालांकि रनवे का कार्य दिसंबर 2022 तक ही पूरा हो जाएगा। इसमें अतिरिक्त बिल्डिंग व अन्य कार्य मार्च 2023 तक पूरे होंगे।
इसके लागत की जानकारी देने हेतु बता दें कि एयरपोर्ट का निर्माण 200 करोड़ रुपए से कराया जा रहा है। इसमें 116 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से रनवे बनाया जा रहा है। वहीं, बिल्डिंग 77 करोड़ पर में तैयार होगा।
