What Are & How To Use Wildcard Characters In Notepad ++ to Find & Replace Or Delete Similar Text
In this quick beginners guide tutorial video I show you how to use special "wildcard" characters in the Notepad Plus Plus text editor app, in order to search for & find and replace or delete lines of code or text that are similar, but not completely the same.
I also show you how to delete & remove blank or empty lines in your document to tidy it up.
In this example I am editing a DayZ maggrouppos.xml Community Server XML mission file, but this technique can be used on almost any file you open in Notepast ++ = .txt, .json, .XML, etc.
The special wildcard to use in-between the characters you want to match are
.*
and make sure that you've selected "Regular Expression" in the Find & Replace dialogue box.
