In this video or in this podcast, I'm going to assume that you guys are applying for that, and then you're going to come back to this video after you get approved and you can rewatch it. So let's assume you were approved, and now you're staring at a very similar screen. Now, for some reason, this thing always says, gives me alerts from 2018, probably because I've been doing Amazon affiliate marketing for a long time, and I've yet to discover how to get rid of these notices. With that being said, let's just go into what kind of marketing I do with Amazon. So once you log in, you can look at your earnings report.
And this is what I know it's going to show a low number. And I'm good with that because I want you to understand that this is not a get rich. I got a percentage of the other product. I do know what it is because I do have a website that talks about flashlights. But the underlying message here is that this is truly, in my opinion, the definition of passive residual income. I'm not doing anything for this money right now. I put something out there a long time ago.
It's still out there today. People still find it. They click on links, they go to Amazon, they make a purchase, and I get a piece of that purchase. Now realize what I'm going to show you here. And let's just go into the two different products.
One is a flashlight. So I mentioned to you earlier that I do have a website that just talks about flashlight. So this one makes perfect sense that I sold a flashlight indirectly through Amazon. The next one here, this wall hanging, six inch adjustable thing. No idea what this is.
One of the great things about Amazon and how they work is that once I have my links established and I put a link out there, if the person went to my website because they wanted to learn more about a flashlight, but they realized that that flashlight wasn't waterproof or it wasn't the kind of flashlight they were looking for. And they continued to shop on Amazon. And then they found a six inch universal wall hanging bracket that they happen to need. And they bought that bracket. Well, I still get a piece of that transaction.
The way that Amazon works is that your link stays active on that person's computer for duration of time. And anything that they buy during that duration of time, you still get a piece of very powerful, very important to understand that part of it don't think that the only thing that you are going to make money on is what you refer or recommend. So in this particular case, you could see that I've only made 2.3 cents so far, and I'm perfectly fine with that for all the reasons that we said. This is passive residual. Every month there's going to be something coming in, and I'm not doing anything actively to do it.
This is passively being done now if I want to look at my payment history.
I'm perfectly fine with that because this is just one strategy that can generate $100. And that's the point of this podcast today is seek out the things that you might be interested in reviewing and put a video out there. And let me show you where some of this comes from. So one of them was called the Redline flashlight. So if I go into Google or into YouTube, which Google owns YouTube.
