Toronto Profiles Project Actor, Writer & Singer: Ashley Botting
Meet Ashley Botting,
She's an actor, writer, improviser, singer and alumna of Toronto's Second City Mainstage. As a performer, she created and performed to rave reviews in Ashley With a "Y", a one woman show in which she completely improvised a cabaret of songs. The show was named NOW Magazine's top comedy show of 2018.
She's performed with the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and with The Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thomson Hall in The Second City Guide to the Symphony. She played the lead role of "Clara" in Cam Baby at the Toronto Fringe Festival, and was in the cast of One Night Only, a completely improvised two-act musical. She has written for the Emmy-winning show Odd Squad, where she also play everyone's favourite pizza lady, Delivery Debbie.
She's also penned episodes for Nickelodeon's Zoofari. She's also a guest-host, writer, and panelist the CBC Radio One show Because News.
She's won two Canadian Comedy Awards and has been nominated for two Dora awards in addition to multiple other Canadian Comedy Award nominations for my work with The Second City and other theatres.
