Build Request! 1-Hour of Clown in 1440p | Dead by Daylight
No Commentary Killer Gameplay - DBD | 1440p on ULTRA Settings
What's up everyone! We got a new Build Request for Clown suggested by @GASSED2211 - I find Clown super underrated and genuinely enjoyable to play, so I was really looking forward to this build! Thank you Gassed!!
I'll break down my thoughts a bit about the build down below!
Disclaimer: I'm not super skilled at Clown & my consistently varies per match. You'll also find one match where I had the 3k, but made a mistake and the match turned out to only be a 2k. Not perfect gameplay by any means but still enjoyed it a lot!
Favorite Qualities:
STBFL on Clown is one of my favorite perks for him, typically this paired with Rapid Brutality is just insane! (STBFL & RB usually in my main build)
ZT pairs extremely well with Clown, knowing what pallets/windows the survivor plans on going to, or if they're completely dead zoned. Allowing you to pre-throw your bottles at any upcoming resources. The extra aura read when a pallet is dropped makes for some easy mindgames!
CDG; I'm not super used to running this perk, so at time I likely wasted tokens when not meaning to. However when used properly and in combination with the yellow bottles, made for some easy hits in areas they normally wouldn't land.
These 2 add-on combinations were really good, extending the duration of the yellow bottles while also increasing movement speed! The GMUK is always in my main build along with the aura read add-on Cigar Box (My favorite 2 to pair together) However having the speed increase was also good as well!
Won 5/6 matches played.
What I found challenging:
As mentioned, STBFL is my go-to on Clown, but I feel like it will always get the most value when paired with RB. I might have ended some chases alot sooner if RB was included. However it is still nice when you have around 6-8 stacks.
GH: I do like this aura read on other killers (preferably on high mobility killers or one's who can teleport) so that you can act more on the aura reads you get. But I found it wasn't always of value to Clown, since sometimes the distance was way to far, and by the time I'd start getting close the auras would end & I'd be left still trying to search for the survivor. Although it was still some general info on where they may be.
CGB add-on, while the extra 3% speed was nice, I would still prefer the aura read add-on (Cigar Box) that way you see auras when invigorated and its extended by 2 seconds. This would genuinely pair so well with this build as it would end up buffing the value from GH, ZT, & CDG. The constant value and info you get from the CB add-on is crazy strong vs just the 3% speed increase.
No gen slowdowns. I know Gassed prefers to play without any slowdowns as it makes for more interesting/challenging gameplay. Which totally makes sense, and genuinely I applaud you for that!! 👏 But I did struggle with some of these matches where gens were flying faster then I could get my downs/hooks. This lead me to have to sweat pretty hard to even get the 3k, especially when I typically don't play any type of tunneling playstyle. I would atleast love to see 1 single slowdown, which my favorite on Clown is Surge. Just that perk alone mixed into this build would have been enough slowdown to not have to sweat as much. If I was to drop a perk to switch out for Surge, I'd say Gearhead.
Summary; This was such a fun build to test out, and as I mentioned I just love playing as Clown so trying out another style on him was really cool! The build is very chase heavy, and if played properly it can make chases short while providing information on where to head next! I did have a couple adjustments that I'd perfer to have mixed into the build (mentioned above), but overall a really enjoyable build that I would highly suggest trying out!
