MINI EDIT | Would you believe me if I told you these images are from 2012 and shot on a Canon 5dii?The other day in our Facebook Group we had a discussion about different camera bodies and it making a difference on how an images looks. While I do agree that each camera make does effect the straight out of camera, I find the way you shoot to be WAY more important. My suggestion was: If you are struggling with your editing…before switching camera brands (or preset companies), take a deep look into your work. Are you shooting to the same caliber that you are trying to emulate? Are you giving yourself the best starting point for editing? We all start somewhere and it takes time to learn your gear and your craft. The only “easy button” is to get better at shooting, then the cameras and presets/editing will be the bonus and just save you time.
These images are not perfect. I was only a few years into my business and overexposing a touch at the time, and this space was very dark (read: noise), but you can see if on a very old camera, in not ideal shooting environment, if you know how to use your gear you can achieve simple and timeless edits.
