How to Make Friendship Bracelets | Beginner Friendship Bracelet Tutorial
Here is my friendship bracelet tutorial, perfect for beginners. Today I show you how to make forward knots to create the candy stripe bracelet along with how to make backwards knots to create the chevron bracelet.
I prefer to make my friendship bracelets with 6-strand cotton embroidery floss - specifically DMC brand
Forward knots used in making friendship bracelets are a little different from the double half hitches you might be used to with macrame. With double half hitch knots, they're tied with the holding cord in front and the working cord wrapped around from behind. But forward knots, the working cord starts in front. It's backwards, but if you prefer the look of double half hitches in macrame, you can just flip your bracelet over and voila! double half hitches galore!
