In this video, I explain and demonstrate some considerations about sidechain ducking sounds to other sounds, in the context of the CTZ approach. This is episode 14 in a series about how to mix for loudness, in large part by using a specific approach to gainstaging and dynamic range control that I call the "Clip-to-Zero (CTZ) strategy".

0:00 - In this video
1:17 - Duck EVERYTHING to the loudest framework sounds
5:18 - Don't forget to duck your aux/FX returns too
6:20 - Don't forget to duck your drum tops too
8:44 - Duck on busses, not on tracks
11:40 - Every bus needs a different ducking length and shape
17:04 - Use spectral duckers for vocals
