Demagogues generalise, but truth tellers talk about specific facts.
They drip-feed information. Demagogues are vague and cryptic, offering just enough information to keep their followers intrigued and hooked. Keeping things vague ensures that they can never be contradicted, as they can always claim they were misunderstood. They often promise to reveal all in the future, but that future never arrives.
Demagogues refuse to offer any sort of logical argument to support their beliefs. They refuse to answer questions, and they revile anybody who asks them.
When demagogues do name their "enemies", they don't refute their arguments. Rather, they name-call and slander. They encourage their followers to do their dirty work by attacking their perceived enemies.
