Raspberry Pi Project (Medical)
Clinical Engineering's Design:
--A medical laboratory did not have any technological means to be able monitor the -30C (+/-.5 tolerance) temperature on their laboratory freezer. Making them compliant with their CAP inspection. Yes the department could have purchased a $1500 analog temperature recorder that records on paper every 7 days but a team came up with a cheaper and even better solution.
Clinical Engineering's Solution:
--Raspberry PI! With a brilliant design, for only $300 spent they can record the temperature over a 180 day period, monitor up to x4 freezers, take screenshots, and save the data to an approved storage device or on the rasp pi itself. Plus the rasp-pi can do tons more!

Temperature sensor
9" monitor w/remote
USB Hub
External UPS
TLC+++++++lol
Software:
Linux
Processing (Java). Python would work nicely too.
