Good Friday invites us to stand at the foot of the cross and wrestle with a question that echoes through every human heart: “Why?" As darkness covered the land and Jesus cried out in anguish, it seemed like abandonment had won. Those closest to Him watched in confusion and grief, wondering if God had truly turned away. But beneath the weight of that moment, something far greater was unfolding. What looked like defeat was actually victory. What felt like forsakenness was the very means of our restoration. Jesus stepped into the separation caused by our sin so that we would never have to. And in His final breath, the cross became the place where sin was defeated, the barrier was removed, and the way back to God was opened forever.
