Remembering a Hero: Demetrius Hellfire Frison

If you’ve ever seen my videos, you see a wristband that I am always wearing, and that’s the bracelet to honor the memory of Lieutenant Demetrius Frison. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about Demet and the family he left behind in service to our Country.
Thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside such a man… I get uncomfortable when people thank me for my service because all I think about are guys like Demet who didn’t make it home.
First Lieutenant Demetrius M. Frison, 26, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Knox, Kentucky. On May 10, 2001, while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom, 1LT Frison died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit in Khost province, Afghanistan.
First Lieutenant Frison graduated from Parkway Northwest High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Millersville University in 2008. 1LT Frison was Vice-President of the university's NAACP chapter. He was also a member of the Black Student Union. 1LT Frison worked at the Lancaster Youth Intervention Center for two years as a youth care worker, where he spent most of his time counseling and mentoring troubled teens. He left the youth center to join the Army in April 2009.
First Lieutenant Frison’s awards and decorations include the Parachutist badge, National Defense Service medal, Global War on Terror Service medal, Army Service ribbon, Army Commendation medal, and was posthumously awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals.
1LT Frison is survived by his wife and son.
