Colorful dynamic custom data labels made easy in Microsoft Excel
Data labels are very useful for focusing users' attention on important trends and messages in a chart. With dynamic custom data labels, the commenting of charts can be set to autopilot. This video shows an easy way to make colorful dynamic custom data labels in Microsoft Excel that update when the filter selection of the table changes. Aggregate function is used in the formulas, because it ignores hidden rows. Values from cells containing the formula are assigned to the data labels. Tips for formatting dates and currency, as well as adding a new line in the label are included. The colorful labels are achieved by copy-pasting the existing series and coloring the labels of both series differently.
