Love is a powerful force. Embraced by sinners and romantics alike, its luminescent glow acts like a magnet, pulling us into its gravitational embrace. Before long, we’ve become its victims. Love is destructive; love is debilitation; love is blindness. Humans have grappled with the twisted emotion since the dawn of time and, while it often leaves us mired in confusion, understanding the nature of love remains one of humanity’s most compelling tasks.
Loose Films newest short, Among Other Things, is a nuanced glimpse into the absurdity of the emotion. Loose Films’ directors Noah Dixon and Drew Johnson’s goal for the film is to bring a dialogue to the viewer around this emotion, whether internal or external. The film was birthed from the idea that love is internalized in an entirely different fashion, depending on the individual perspective it inhabits. Throughout Johnson and Dixon’s friendship, the topic of love has always inspired impassioned discourse and, on their newest short film, they’ve set out to examine its very nature.
Among Other Things serves as a discourse on love and human nature. What seems simple on the surface might not be so…after all, love is f*****.
