Alaska is by far the largest U.S. state by area, comprising more total area than the next three largest states (Texas, California, and Montana) combined! It is the third-least populous and most sparsely populated state, with one of the largest playgrounds if you're into hiking, fishing, biking, trails, wildlife, photography, and more! About half of Alaska's residents live in Anchorage followed by the 2nd largest city in the U.S by area, the state capital, Juneau. The former capital of Alaska is Sitka.
