DJI Mavic Pro D-Log Sharpness Test 02 Panorama (2017)
Testing three different sharpness settings in D-Log on the DJI Mavic Pro: +1, 0 and -1.
All three takes were otherwise shot the same:
UHD (2160p)
MP4
NTSC
30fps - conformed to 24fps in Premiere
White balance set to Sunny
Manual exposure settings: 100 ISO and 1/60 shutter speed (I used a 16 ND Filter)
D-Log
Contrast -1
Saturation -1
The grade was done in Adobe Premiere using the Film Convert plugin.
I think I will stick to +1, -3, -3 as my go to setting. The noise it creates is tolerable (can be easily removed). And I just don't like the loss in detail you get with 0 and below. In terms of contrast and saturation, -1 is still a bit strong when grading so I'll just stick to -3 on those for now.
