Chapter 4: International Trade Agreements
This video provides information about trade agreements that is not found in the textbook Economic Essentials for Business, Management and Engineering. Much discussion revolves around the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the fact that, despite much discussion, countries have failed to agree on major reductions in barriers to trade since 1995 when the WTO replaced the GATT process. Instead, regional trade agreements have been implemented or are in discussion stage. This video provides a broad-brush overview. At this point, it does not include discussion of the trade disruptions caused by President Donald Trump. His policies have made a mockery of trade agreements.
