Towards the tail end of Jesus ministry, he comes to Jerusalem and expresses his full blown messiahship. He enters the city on the back of a donkey and is received like a king. He kick out the merchants from the temple and cures the blind and the sick. All of this challenges the Chief Priests and the Elders, who in turn question Jesus about his authority. Jesus does not answer their question but responds with two parables. The first one, The Parable of the Two Sons, is about repentance. This parable explains what it means to repent in the context of the announcement of the restored Kingdom and although it is directed at the leadership of Jerusalem, there is one big lesson we can learn from it.
