We're back with a second video on how to do quick estimates and research town code for a sign project! Don't worry, this is only my second video and I already screwed this one up so bad! I didn't even do the math to get the correct square footage for the sign but I did go back and change it after the recording! We were allowed 1.5 square feet per every one foot of linear storefront footage. Our store front was 96' long (which I also said inches in the video!) I should have taken our 1.5 allowance and multiplied it by the 96' getting 144 square feet allowance for our sign but instead I "multiplied" our 96' by 1 sq ft getting 96 square feet for our overall size. I did this because as seen in my previous video, I had an allowance of only 1 square foot and I was obviously rushing to finish this video. Maybe in the next one I will get it right! At least I caught this mistake before handing it off to the client! This is why it is important to always double check your code research and your proposed sign size.
