Stop the Bleed: Is Your CAT Tourniquet REAL?
This video explains the indicators of authentic vs fake CAT tourniquets, and explains the points of failure that make cheap knockoff tourniquets such a hazard.
With awareness campaigns such as the Stop the Bleed Month empowering civilians & first responders with the knowledge & skills to apply tourniquets, there is a need to understand that deaths have occurred when fake tourniquets have been unwittingly used to treat what would have likely been a survivable injury. This video provides 12 different indicators or 'clues' to identify if your CAT TQ is the real deal.
This video also provides tips for how to safeguard against inadvertently buying counterfeit tourniquets, especially the hazards of buying tourniquets off of Amazon. The third portion of this video provides a way to mitigate the risk of purchasing TQ's from Amazon.
