The journey with #GoogleMeet continues. What a mess it was in the spring of 2020 when teachers were innocently creating Google Meet sessions in their #GoogleCalendar only to find out that those links were not ending and provided and ongoing video conference. It seemed to be a game after awhile. Students would keep a link alive for months on end without the teacher knowing.

Google then responded with providing a Meet link in Google Classroom that provided more security. (    • Secure Google Meet Sessions with Goog...   ) You could also create Google Meet sessions using a Nickname and as long as you removed students when you were finished, the link would end. (    • Google Meet: Removing Students (Septe...   ). You could also combat all of that by turning off "Quick Access" which would in turn force students to request access. (    • Force Asking to Join Google Meet  )

The problem is that this left an issue with scheduling. #GoogleCalendar is a great option for scheduling and directly inviting students or groups of students. (For schools that do not have the enterprise subscription and need #BreakoutRooms this will work well for you.) Now you can turn off #QuickAccess in your Google Calendar invitation which would only allow the students on the guest list to join the Google Meet once you are present. It also will not allow them to enter your Google Meet unless you area actually present.

Just make sure you turn off the ability for students to invite guests in the Google Calendar invitation or you may get some unwanted results.
