New Counter Strike 2 video covers items, content, and updates from Counter Strike which eventually got removed and disappeared from the game. Counter-Strike's history is littered with cool content that vanished. We had the ghostly Spectral Shiv, an invisible knife from the 2018 Halloween update, and spooky masks donned by operatives during the 2014 Halloween update. Removed gameplay mechanics include Dog Tags, earned during Operation Hydra (2017), and Night Vision/Flashlights, which were usable in older CS titles but limited to console commands in CS:GO. Scrapped content like the Gas Grenade and Gas Mask (found in CS: Condition Zero files) hint at a more tactical past. Operation Hydra (2017) also offered a glimpse of the Heavy Assault Suit (200 health armor) before it vanished. Limited-use items like the Repulsor Device, used in a single Shattered Web mission (2019), highlight the experimentation within the game. Even the SCAR-17, a weapon with achievements hinting at its inclusion, was ultimately cut from CS:GO. Finally, the failed experiment of Dynamic Weapon Pricing, where prices fluctuated based on usage in Counter-Strike: Source (2006), serves as a reminder of the constant evolution of the game.
