Bulk Core Web Vitals Analysis & Why Core Web Vitals Don't Really Matter
In this video, I show how to use JetOctopus to analyze Core Web Vitals metrics for a website. Core Web Vitals became a Google ranking factor back in 2020 and many panicked thinking they needed perfect scores. However, through my own observation and testing, I've found that Core Web Vitals tend to be over-hyped and aren't worth overly fixating on unless your site is painfully slow.

I demonstrate using the Core Web Vitals analysis tool in JetOctopus to get a quick overview of both lab data and real user field data for the different Core Vitals metrics. I highlight the key advantages I see in using this tool, like the ability to analyze web pages in bulk instead of having to evaluate them one at a time, and having lab data calculated more accurately via Google's API instead of your local computer. You can also easily filter to any subset of URLs you want to analyze.
In most cases, minor improvements to Core Web Vitals scores are unlikely to significantly influence rankings or user experience. So while it's useful to monitor them, especially if you have major speed issues, my conclusion is that Core Web Vitals tend to be overemphasized. Sites should instead prioritize improving content quality, conversions and overall user experience.
