git doesn't have to be hard. You just need the right teacher. ;)
Here I cover the six core commands you need to get started with git. We're going to use the command line (Git Bash) because it's EASIER.
Commands:
git clone
git add
git status
git commit
git push
git pull
and basics of .gitignore files
You can use git for your source code, but it's also great with any plaintext documents! I write stories using Markdown and back them up to a repository, and I also write lesson plans with LaTeX and sometimes even just HTML, and all that can be stored and version-controlled with git.
