Leading Woman Challenge: "War Paint"
My husband made this video for Leading Woman Challenge filmmaking competition, which unfortunately was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic. But we already did the work and it would be such a shame to waste it. The task was to create 60 sec. long empowering narrative about subverting gender stereotypes. The influence on this was the famous quote "This isn't makeup, it's war paint" by Iliza Shlesinger. It shows me getting ready for a show. This can be translated into getting ready for a fight to survive every single day. This is about overcoming life's obstacles, an understanding that we are much stronger than we think we are. We just have to believe it.
